Italy’s tennis sensation Jannik Sinner revealed that despite his father’s presence in the stands, he could sense nervousness beneath his calm facade during the match against Ben Shelton at Indian Wells. Sinner, aged 22, secured a straight-set victory with scores of 7-6, 6-1 on Tuesday, with his family in attendance.

In his post-match remarks to the media, Sinner acknowledged his father’s nerves, even though they weren’t overtly displayed. He expressed gratitude for the support of his close friends and family at the tournament.

“He’s nervous,” Sinner remarked about his father. “He’s just not showing it, I guess. It’s amazing to have him here. It’s a little bit different tournament, we have the house, we cook together. In the evening, we watch some series together, which I missed a lot in the last years.”
