DONE DEAL: “Falcons Sign DB Dane Cruikshank and DL Bradlee Anae to Roster”

“After the 2024 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons are actively refining their roster as they head into the new season. Recently, they conducted tryouts for several players including tight end Sean McKeon, defensive back Dane Cruikshank, defensive end Bradlee Anae, and linebacker David Anenih, alongside other veterans.

Following these tryouts, the Falcons announced on Saturday their decision to sign Cruikshank and Anae, opting to move forward with both players.

Among the tryouts, Cruikshank boasted the most NFL experience, having participated in 54 games over six seasons, with the majority of his appearances for the Tennessee Titans. Notably, he has significant special teams experience, a facet that may have contributed to the Falcons’ interest in him, akin to his role with the Chicago Bears in 2022.

Anae, drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round in 2020, saw action in 11 games over two seasons before joining the New York Jets’ practice squad in 2022. Unfortunately, his 2023 season was sidelined due to injury. While Anae’s recent lack of game time might categorize him as a potential camp participant, his inclusion offers opportunities for surprises under the Falcons’ new coaching regime.

With these signings, the Falcons still have three roster spots available, hinting at the possibility of further additions in the near future.”
