NBA analysts have suggested the Miami Heat will sign Collin Sexton from the Utah Jazz. Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report has proposed the following trade between the Heat and Jazz: Trade: Utah Jazz trade Collin Sexton to Miami Heat for No. 15 pick and 2026 second-round pick Duncan Robinson (via LAL) Sexton is expected to average 18.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 2023-24 while shooting 48.7% from the field, 39.4% from beyond the 3-point line and 85.9% from the free throw line.

He will make $18.4 million next season. “Still, Sexton could thrive in South Beach, where the Heat could use more perimeter protection and downhill strength,” Buckley wrote. “His relentless, full-throttle engine would fit well into the culture and give the second team some scoring power lost with Tyler Herro’s promotion to the starting lineup.”

Sexton and Jordan Clarkson could also be traded in the offseason. Utah went 31-51 in 2023-24, missing the playoffs for the second straight season. “Rivals executives who spoke to HoopsHyp also believe guards Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson are available on the trade market,” Scott wrote. Sexton averaged 18.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists in his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Jazz.

The Heat lost in five games to the Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2024 playoffs. All-Star Jimmy Butler missed the entire series with a knee injury. Butler is eligible for a contract extension this offseason, and according to Anthony Chang, NBA reporter for the Miami Herald, Butler is expected to seek a two-year extension worth approximately $113 million.

Butler will make $48.8 million next season. He holds a player option for the 2025-26 season worth $52.4 million. The six-time All-Star is set to average 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.3 steals, 0.3 blocks, 49.9% shooting from the field, 41.4% from beyond the 3-point line, 85.8 blocks, and 8.7% from the free throw line in 2023-24.
