New Philadelphia Eagles Signing Backs Sixers, Joel Embiid

Philadelphia Eagles defense Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers are being supported by CJ Gardner-Johnson this week in Miami.

The Philadelphia Eagles have been strengthening their roster as of late, and one of their star players from the 2022 NFC Championship squad recently got back together.

Veteran safety CJ Gardner-Johnson returned to the Eagles after playing with the Detroit Lions during the 2023 NFL season, his second consecutive season as a free agent.
Johnson showed his team’s neighbor, the Philadelphia 76ers, some love now that he’s back with the Philadelphia-based team.
The Miami Heat hosted the Sixers on Thursday night. Johnson attended the Kaseya Center with the intention of supporting the visiting team. The seasoned Eagle made sure his X fan base knew he was there to watch Joel Embiid, the Sixers’ best player, play.

Johnson took advantage of the opportunity to watch a Sixers game down south. Joel Embiid made his second appearance of the season on Thursday after returning from a meniscus injury.
When Embiid was back on track in January, he was leading the league in scoring and dominating most MVP race predictions. Unfortunately, another player’s fall onto his already wounded knee caused further aggravation to his knee worries, forcing him to finish his night in the Golden State early.

Embiid decided on surgery after obtaining MRIs and considering her alternatives for care. At least eight weeks were predicted for him to be out. Embiid made his comeback to play on Tuesday night following a two-month absence.

The MVP-winning big man was cleared to play on Thursday in Miami, despite his suitability for the game. In 33 minutes of play, he ended with 29 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. The Heat were beaten 109-105 by the Sixers.
