Alabama Football may have a bye week in the CFB Playoff First Round in late December 2024. The Alabama Crimson Tide would love a bye. The next best thing would be to host the game at Bryant-Denny Stadium and participate in the First Round of the Playoffs.
There is a third alternative for the Playoff schedule for the weekend of December 20–21. The Crimson Tide are playing a team that is seeded higher when they visit them in the first round. Fan excitement for an away First Round game would be lower if Alabama wasn’t playing a long-standing rival.
There is a lot of excitement for an Ohio State quarterfinal match at Eleven Warriors, the Ohio State site. The hype stems from Bruce Feldman’s projection, which has Ohio State as the number one seed. After the Bucks had a bye, Ohio State would host the winner of the 8-seed vs. 9-seed matchup. Feldman predicts that Notre Dame will be rated eighth and Alabama will be ranked ninth.
