Ex-NRL prop leaves club and joins new team

He previously had stints with the Sharks and Bulldogs.

Franklin Pele, a former NRL forward, has signed a contract with a new team after being released by Hull FC.

After time with the Cronulla Sharks and Canterbury Bulldogs, Pele moved to Hull FC in the Super League. He has since signed with a new franchise, where he will play alongside former teammate Jayden Okunbor.

His two-year contract with Hull FC was canceled, and the Bradford Bulls, who play in the RFL Championship in England, revealed that he will join the team until the conclusion of the season.

Pele, who is only 22 years old, shocked everyone last year by deciding to leave the NRL after three seasons and seven NRL games with the Bulldogs and Cronulla Sharks.

Although he was expected to be an impact player off the interchange bench, he never lived up to the hype and played for the club’s feeder sides in the NSW Cup for the majority of his career.

Bradford manager Eamon O’Carroll released a statement saying, “We’re delighted to have been able to bring in someone of Franklin’s size and quality to boost our squad at such a crucial stage of the season.”
