Exciting times ahead for Mizzous as Irish star chooses to join the…

The Notre Dame football team has had some notable ups and downs this recruiting cycle. One of the most memorable misses was three-star wide receiver Sean Terry. Terry joined the Irish roster this winter and reopened his recruitment earlier this month. Terry has since decided he’s found his team. To some extent, where he signed may be welcome news for Fighting Irish fans.

He was once thought to be heading to Ole Miss, but instead chose another SEC program. The former Notre Dame football player’s new home could be good news for the Irish. Earlier this week, Terry announced he had chosen the Missouri Tigers as his next home team. The announcement came after he took an official visit to the Tigers the first week of June, choosing them over Kentucky and Michigan, which he visited last weekend.

He’s a big catch for Missouri, who has been on a roll recently. Last season, the No. 26-ranked Ohio State product had 27 receptions for 525 yards and nine touchdowns. He also caught 28 carries for 391 yards and five touchdowns. Those numbers, plus Terry’s talent, are why ND wants to keep him. But it was the timing of the confirmation that had some people especially nervous.

He left Notre Dame in his rearview mirror around the same time that quarterback Deuce Knight seemed concerned. Terry’s departure seemed like a sign of the times, having heard something or reading something. Now that he’s committed to the Tigers, he may be confident that Knight won’t be with him wherever he goes. And if Sean Terry now interprets the signs of the times this way, that would be very good news for Notre Dame football supporters.
