Max Verstappen secured the top spot in qualifying for the Miami Grand Prix sprint race on Friday, with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc alongside him on the front row. Leclerc had a disrupted morning practice session due to a spin-out. Verstappen, a triple world champion, will lead the grid on Saturday, having clocked the fastest time of one minute, 28.194 seconds at the Miami International Autodrome.

Verstappen expressed dissatisfaction, stating, “Driving today was unpleasant for some reason. It felt great during practice, but somehow we still ended up in first.” Leclerc’s morning session was cut short after just 10 minutes when he spun out and stopped on the track, prompting a red flag.
