Five trade targets for the North Melbourne Kangaroos

North Melbourne will be an intriguing team to follow during the upcoming player movement period, as the club is expected to utilize the draft, trades, and free agency to enhance their roster.

The Roos have acknowledged the challenge of attracting high-caliber players to a team that is currently struggling, which likely means they will secure another top draft pick this year.

Nevertheless, the Kangaroos, with their financial resources, are well-positioned to make significant moves. Alastair Clarkson is eager to bring in some seasoned players to complement the league’s youngest squad.

1. TRAVIS BOAK (Port Adelaide)

A player identified as a potential target for the Kangaroos if they seek to add some experienced talent from outside the club. Boak is still averaging over 17 disposals and five marks per game for the Power despite being perhaps the sixth-string midfield option at Alberton.

2. MATT OWIES (Carlton)

The Carlton dynamo could be the top small forward yet to secure a deal for 2025, following Tyson Stengle’s recent extension with Geelong. Owies ranks third in goals for the Blues this year, trailing only Charlie Curnow and Harry McKay, with 23 goals and 12 assists from 17 matches so far in 2024.

3. JACK DARLING (West Coast Eagles)
