Following Sheffield Wednesday’s victory over Bristol City, Danny Rohl delivered a new blow to the players.

Sheffield Wednesday defeated Bristol City 2-1 tonight, but in the process, they suffered a fresh player blow.

Sheffield Wednesday’s stunning victory in the Championship has left them three points from safety.
Ike Ugbo scored both goals in the Owls’ 2-1 victory over Bristol City at Hillsborough; yet, Sheffield Wednesday is still in 23rd place thanks to victories for QPR and Millwall.

After receiving a second yellow card in the second half, Di’Shon Bernard eventually hobbled over the line for Danny Rohl’s team, down one player.

It could be argued, rather cynically, that Bernard was lucky to be on the field after receiving his first yellow card in the first half.

Di’Shon Bernard is expected to miss the crucial Rotherham United match.
The 23-year-old Bernard has already made 27 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship this year.

Even though Bernard’s performance in blue and white today wasn’t the best, Rohl is eager to keep him at the team once his contract expires this summer. Bernard is still an important member of the starting lineup.

He will miss one game due to his red card from today; that game is the short journey to Rotherham United, the bottom team, the following weekend.

The Millers were ahead against QPR this afternoon, but they ultimately lost 2-1. Since October, the team has only won one game overall and six games in the Championship.
Bambo Diaby is scheduled to play a rare Sheffield Wednesday.

Spanish center-back Bambo Diaby was a constant in the starting lineup for the majority of the first half of the season.

And despite a few inconsistent outings, he maintained his spot in the starting lineup until Rohl benched the 26-year-old following a horrendous showing in the 4-0 loss at Southampton last month.

Now that Bernard has been suspended and players like Akin Famewo are still injured, Diaby might be in position for a rare start—his first since the Southampton match.

Despite Bernard’s absence, anticipate Rohl to be hesitant to alter his structure after sticking with a back-five once more today and seeing similar outcomes following the 2-0 victory over Millwall.

Although many supporters might be hesitant to start Diaby in the starting lineup for such a significant away match against Rotherham United, the center-back will undoubtedly be excited about the chance to showcase his true abilities.

Diaby had a lot better look from November through December. However, he completely lost his form following the new year and is now hardly ever seen.

The game between Rotherham United and Sheffield Wednesday starts at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
