Former Cardinals LB Haason Reddick traded to Jets.

The Arizona Cardinals missed the chance to sign former linebacker Haason Reddick because he is moving on to other things, despite recent reports indicating that they were interested in bringing him back.

Adam Schefter of ESPN NFL Insiders claims that Reddick was traded by the Philadelphia Eagles to the New York Jets in exchange for a draft selection.

The Eagles are trading edge rusher Haason Reddick to the New York Jets for what may be a second round choice in 2026, according to Schefter. If Reddick plays 67.5% of the game and records 10 or more sacks this season, the 2026 pick moves up to the second round. It’s a 2023 third if not.

Outside the Board
Jeremy Fowler, a senior NFL reporter for ESPN, believed last Saturday that Reddick’s trade would happen sooner rather than later.

According to Fowler on Sportscenter, “Haason Reddick is expected to be moved at some point by the league.” Because [Cardinals head coach] Jonathan Gannon played with him in Philadelphia two years ago, Arizona might be a squad to watch. Together, they produced some excellent work. Arizona requires pass rushers.

2018 saw the Cards sign Reddick to a $13.4 million, four-year contract. In 2021, Arizona declined to exercise his option for a one-year extension.

Reddick played 64 games (31 starts) while a Cardinal. The 29-year-old recorded 15 pass defenses, 9.0 forced fumbles, 20.0 sacks, and 255 tackles.

After that, Reddick played for the Carolina Panthers for a season before moving on to the Eagles.

Reddick started every one of the Eagles’ 34 regular season games during his two seasons there. 87 tackles, 27.0 sacks, and 5.0 forced fumbles were all tallied by him.

He was a two-time Pro Bowler in the previous two seasons, a second-team All-Pro in 2022, and a contender for 2022 Defensive Player of the Year.

Reddick and Leki Fotu, a former defensive tackle for the Cardinals, have now joined the Jets as new players. Fotu and New York inked a one-year deal.
