Former Duke G Jeremy Roach commits to Baylor.

Jeremy Roach, a former standout point guard for Duke, announced on Instagram on Sunday that he had committed to Baylor. Following his Tuesday transfer portal entry and Wednesday NBA draft declaration, Roach choose Baylor over many other schools, including Villanova, Syracuse, and Kentucky. Roach averaged 11.3 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.4 rebounds in 130 games (108 starts) over his four years at Duke.

As a senior, the Virginia native averaged a career-high 14.0 points and 3.3 assists, while also shooting a career-high 42.9 percent from three-point range, earning him third-team All-ACC honors. All four of Duke’s NCAA Tournament games saw the former McDonald’s All-American score in double figures.

Afte two solid seasons to start his Duke career, including a Final Four appearance in 2021-22, Roach broke out with 13.6 points and 3.1 assists as a junior and played well down the stretch. With RayJ Dennis out of eligibility, Roach is likely to be the Bears’ starting guard if he doesn’t stay in the NBA draft. He has until May 29 to decide.
