The Florida Gators recently joined the competition for Tae’shaun Gelsey, a three-star athlete from Jacksonville (Fla.) Riverside. While Gelsey has been on Florida’s radar for some time, they’ve been assessing him closely.

Despite being classified as a wide receiver on 247Sports, the Gators see him as a potential tight end at the collegiate level. They were keen on observing how his physique would develop and monitored his performance during the spring. Following their evaluations, the Gators decided to extend an offer to Gelsey.

He mentioned, “It all began when I attended their camp last year and showcased my skills, which I believe caught their attention. That’s when they began considering me seriously.

They were interested in observing how my physique would progress and requested to review some of my game footage from my junior year after my camp attendance last summer. Upon reviewing it, they held a meeting, followed by reaching out to me and extending an offer.”
