Gators scheduled to End season with 3 game series against powerful…

The Florida Gators wrap up their regular season with a three-game series against the No. 9 Georgia Bulldogs from Thursday to Saturday. All three games will be available for streaming on SEC Network+. Game one and two are slated for 6 p.m. ET on Thursday and Friday, respectively, while the series finale will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Despite the Bulldogs sweeping the last series in 2022, the Gators have won 16 of the last 27 meetings dating back to 2014, including two series wins in the past three encounters. Overall, Florida leads the all-time series 193-115-2 and has a favorable road record of 86-64-1 against Georgia. Under head coach Kevin O’Sullivan, the Gators hold a 30-17 record in the series, with an 11-10 mark in Athens.

Georgia enters the series with an impressive offensive lineup, batting .307 with 133 home runs and holding a 38-12 overall record, with a 16-11 record in the SEC. On the pitching side, the Bulldogs have a combined ERA of 5.31 and a 1.50 WHIP over 423 1/3 innings.

In their recent outings, the Gators went 2-2 last week, with wins against USF and a split series against No. 4 Kentucky. Florida’s resilience is evident with 13 come-from-behind victories this season, including nine of their 10 SEC wins. They also clinched three walk-off wins.

Over their last 80 conference games, the Gators have posted a 48-32 record against SEC opponents, including a 40-29 record in regular-season play.

Over recent seasons, the Gators have been dominant in three-game series, winning 22 out of their last 30 regular-season series since 2022, with 15 victories in SEC play. In terms of home runs, Florida ranks eighth nationally and fourth in the SEC this season, hitting 107 home runs and averaging 2.1 per game. They also stand out defensively, ranking third in the SEC and 14th nationally with a .980 fielding percentage. Caglianone’s hitting streak has been remarkable, tying a program record with 30 consecutive games, hitting .430 with 19 homers during this streak.

Additionally, seven different Gator players have reached double-digit home runs this season, a feat not seen since 1998. Caglianone’s performance has been stellar both at the plate and on the mound, leading the team in various offensive categories while also boasting impressive pitching stats, including a 5-1 record and a low batting average against.
