Georgia RB Trevor Etienne and WR Dillon Bell reveal individual decisions for 2025 season
Running back Trevor Etienne has declared his return for the 2025 season, marking one of the most important off-season decisions for the Georgia Bulldogs.
His choice gives the defending SEC champions a good backfield and gives their already potent offense even more depth. After moving from Florida in the spring of 2024, Etienne immediately made a name for himself as a key member of Georgia’s offensive line and a well-liked locker room leader. Both Head Coach Kirby Smart and Offensive Coordinator Mike Bobo praised his unwavering work ethic, flexibility, and team-first approach.
Etienne, a seasoned veteran, became one of the team’s most trusted voices by blending in well with the Bulldogs’ ethic. His guidance was also helpful in developing Nate Frazier, the 2024 breakthrough star who wowed fans as a rookie. As 2025 approaches, Etienne and Frazier will be among the most formidable running back combinations in NCAA football.
For Georgia, Etienne’s choice to skip the NFL Draft is revolutionary. The Bulldogs’ backfield would have been extremely precarious in the absence of his comeback. Even though Frazier is a well-established star, there are still concerns over the depth chart’s remaining players.
During the 2024 season, Etienne himself struggled with ailments. He was hampered in Georgia’s defeat to Ole Miss and missed four games completely because of a rib issue. He can accomplish the objectives he failed to meet last season by coming back for another season. Additionally, it gives Georgia’s offense continuity at a crucial moment. With four of the Bulldogs’ five starting offensive guards injured,Etienne’s experience in blitz pickup and as a reliable outlet in the passing game will be invaluable—especially for whichever quarterback takes the reins in 2025, whether it’s Gunner Stockton or Ryan Puglisi.
Dillon Bell, wide receiver
Dillon Bell, a wide receiver, was the second player to declare his return to Georgia on Tuesday, continuing with the offense.
With 43 catches for 466 yards and four receiving touchdowns this season, Bell set career highs in receptions, yards, and touchdowns, making him another reliable performer for Georgia. Bell even scored a touchdown on the ground and assisted in the run game when the running back room was severely hurt.
Georgia’s wide receivers will be a strength next season, despite the fact that everyone knows they failed this season. Transfers Zachariah Branch and Noah Thomas, who are both among the top 10 wide receivers in the nation, are joining Bell.
Those three guys will be an elite trio that when paired with the great running back duo already mentioned will give UGA many weapons capable of destroying teams.
