The Milwaukee Bucks’ 2023-24 NBA season ended unexpectedly early. Just like last season, they were eliminated in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, this time by the Indiana Pacers. Last season’s disappointment led to the termination of head coach Mike Budenholzer, who has since been hired by the Phoenix Suns.

The fallout from this year’s disappointing loss is yet to be seen, but new head coach Doc Rivers has already fired at least three of the assistant coaches who were on staff last season. Unfortunately, the Bucks were never at full strength throughout their series against the Pacers. Khris Middleton was able to play the entire series while suffering numerous leg problems. Damian Lillard played the majority of the series, but he missed one game due to an Achilles injury, which also significantly restricted him in the last games.

Of course, Milwaukee faced an uphill struggle throughout the series because to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s soleus injury at the end of the regular season. The two-time MVP missed the final five games of the season and was out for the first round of the playoffs. Following the Bucks’ elimination, it was found that he was far from ready to play.

The NBA Finals begin this month, and Giannis has confirmed that he is fit and healthy to return to the court. Giannis made news last week when he was spotted rejoicing on his brother Kostas Antetokounmpo, whose team Panathinaikos won the Euro League final. He also stated that he would like to own a Greek Basketball League team eventually. As it turns out, Giannis’ basketball business in Greece this summer includes more than just observing his brother and planning for his retirement. In a news conference on Saturday, Vassilis Spanoulis (the Greek National Team’s head coach) announced that Giannis, the country’s finest basketball player, will compete in the Pre-Olympic Tournament.

In any event, it’s nice to see Giannis recovered and ready to play basketball again. Hopefully, he can prevent more damage during the upcoming tournament.
