Carlton Palmer anticipates Taylor Harwood-Bellis making his debut in the Premier League next season, with both Southampton and Ipswich Town showing interest.

Ipswich Town is considering a move for Manchester City’s loanee, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, from Southampton if they secure promotion to the Premier League this season.

Currently on loan at Southampton, Harwood-Bellis has caught the eye of Ipswich Town, who are reportedly eager to secure a permanent deal for him this summer, as per a report from Alan Nixon via Patreon. Ipswich is poised to act swiftly should they outdo Southampton in the promotion race.

Interestingly, previous reports by Nixon suggested that Southampton has already secured a permanent deal for Harwood-Bellis, with a £15 million transfer set to be finalized if they clinch promotion.

The 22-year-old defender has gained experience through Championship loans with clubs like Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City, Burnley, and presently Southampton. He has also been a prominent figure as captain of England’s U-21 team.

Former England international Carlton Palmer believes Harwood-Bellis will draw Premier League attention this summer, whether from Ipswich, Southampton, or other top-flight clubs, considering his consistent performances at the higher end of the Championship.

In an exclusive interview with Football League World, Palmer stated: “There’s considerable speculation surrounding Taylor Harwood-Bellis. It appears he’s poised to depart Manchester City in the summer. His standout performances while on loan at Southampton have been noteworthy.”

Palmer continued, highlighting Harwood-Bellis’s potential and his impact in the Championship, emphasizing his contributions to Southampton’s defensive solidity and his overall qualities as a defender.

The obstacle in the transfer could be Southampton’s promotion, but with their recent results and fixtures in hand, they remain contenders for automatic promotion. Palmer suggests that if Southampton doesn’t secure promotion, Harwood-Bellis could attract interest from other Premier League clubs.

At £15 million, Harwood-Bellis represents an appealing option for clubs seeking a quality centre-back. Ipswich Town, positioned for automatic promotion, could benefit greatly from his signing, given their effective recruitment strategies under the current management.
