In front of the upcoming campaign, Slough Town has added goalkeeper Charlie Horlock and defender Lexus Beeden to its roster.

After placing 10th in the National League South the previous season, the Rebels have been reorganizing their roster. Notable departures include Dan Lincoln, Johnny Goddard, Temi Eweka, Tyrese Dyce, who joined nearby Maidenhead United, and Nathan Minhas.
However, in an effort to replace those players, player manager Scott Davies has been working nonstop. This summer, Beeden and Horlock will join Dan Roth, Sam Evans, John Gilbert, and John Ufuah as new Rebels signings.

The towering 24-year-old defender Beeden started his career at Tooting and Mitcham United, where Leeds United and Sunderland were drawn to his outstanding performances. In the end, he chose to remain a little bit closer to home, joining the Reading u23 team in August 2019 after signing with the Royals.

Beeden moved to the National League South’s Welling United in October 2020, where he played until his season was cut short in February 2021. In May, he relocated to Darlington, where manager Alun Armstrong emphasized his defensive prowess and aerial skills. After spells with Herne Bay, Sevenoaks Town, and most recently Carshalton Athletic, Davies believes he is now prepared to return to playing in the National League.

Speaking about the signing week with Sloughtownfc.net, Davies stated: “I’ve known Lexus for a few years now. I became aware of him while he was playing for Sevenoaks following his departure from Reading, and I have continued to keep a watch on him ever since.

In addition to being a terrific complement in both boxes due to his large physical presence, he also possesses excellent technical skill with the ball.

After defeating numerous other teams in the league, getting Lexus over the finish line was a huge bonus. He is an excellent fit for the vision we have for the company, and we are excited to collaborate with him.
“Slough seemed like the right place for me to build on the season I just had and showcase the gift God has given me,” Beeden continued.

It was Scott’s desire to play and our shared ambition that drew me to the team. I was convinced after hearing so many positive things about the team and its supporters.
