West Ham United has engaged in discussions regarding the potential signing of Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth during the upcoming summer transfer window, with reports from Football Transfers suggesting the club is willing to offer him a weekly wage of £115k. According to their website on March 8th, the Hammers have taken proactive steps to secure an early advantage in the race for Solanke’s signature, having recently held talks with his representatives and family members about a potential transfer.

In a bid to seal the deal, West Ham is prepared to significantly increase Solanke’s salary and offer Bournemouth a transfer fee of £45 million, which could be tempting for the Cherries to accept. The prospect of West Ham and Solanke joining forces appears promising, particularly given the team’s urgent need for a reliable goal scorer in the upcoming 2024/25 season.

Dominic Solanke has been linked with a move to West Ham United.

With Michail Antonio aging and Danny Ings failing to make a significant impact since joining the club, manager David Moyes has often resorted to deploying Jarrod Bowen as a central striker this season, albeit successfully. However, adding Solanke to the squad would provide a more conventional attacking option and offer versatility within different tactical setups, potentially mitigating concerns regarding Moyes’ future at the club.

At a transfer fee of £45 million and considering today’s wage standards in football, Solanke’s acquisition represents a sound investment for West Ham, especially considering initial valuations exceeding £50 million. This potential signing could address a significant void within the squad and presents an enticing prospect for the club.
