Van Lith entered the portal, trending to a different program, and made her first visit of the offseason.

After spending one season in Baton Rouge, LSU guard Hailey Van Lith made her way onto the NCAA Transfer Portal last Thursday. The highly sought-after free agent has now completed her first visit since announcing her intention to leave Kim Mulkey’s program.

Former Louisville standout Van Lith, who captivated America with her extraordinary scoring prowess, is returning to the scene and is being pursued by a number of institutions.

The former All-America honorable mention is currently searching for a new home for her final season of eligibility after a disastrous single season in Baton Rouge. Van Lith, who has already played four seasons of collegiate ball, will exercise her COVID year.

Van Lith traveled to Starkville over the weekend to see the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Van Lith, a well-known person in the NIL, is the face of the Adidas women’s basketball campaign. She will undoubtedly attract attention to the program she chooses, but Mississippi State had the opportunity to challenge her this weekend.

Van Lith made the decision to stay in college and not to enter the WNBA Draft. When a player thinks she has what it takes to go to the next level, she will search for a program that will let her be herself on the court and raise her draft stock after all.

“You have to kind of look at what type of player you are,” Van Lith said. “There’s some people that have to capitalize in college because they’re not a pro-type player. Their likability is going to stay in college. And I think for me, that’s not the case. I’m a pro-type player. The deals will follow, like Angel said. The one downfall is visibility. And the amount of times we play on ESPN and ABC and all these major television channels, that becomes a lot less when you go to the WNBA where it’s at right now. You’re not going to be in the media as much, but from a brand aspect, as long as you do what you need to do and keep up that part of your life, then brands, they’re going to follow you when you go to the league.”

Van Lith’s name is officially in the portal as a graduate transfer. Let’s look into a few programs that will almost certainly reach out to the prized guard:
