Hailey Van Lith Is Already Back Working In The Gym At Surprising Location Ahead Of Transfer.

Hailey Van Lith kept her word to Kim Mulkey and only attended LSU for one season. Shortly after losing to Caitlin Clark in the Elite Eight, the former Louisville standout logged on to the portal as a graduate transfer. She will play her fifth and last year of eligibility at her third college.

Van Lith is back in the gym at an unexpected place with a decision on the horizon.

NBA skills coach Jordan Lawley, who serves as her personal trainer, uploaded a video on Wednesday night. Van Lith, his client, was practicing post moves in the Baton Rouge gym of her soon-to-be former squad.

This isn’t all that strange. It probably occurs more frequently than we realize.

Van Lith is most likely in her final semester of college before graduating the following month. She is most likely still enrolled in online or on-campus classes. It is evident that she still resides in Baton Rouge.

Players who use the transfer portal, however, typically train out at a gym off-site. I’m not sure if I’ve ever witnessed an athlete actively looking for a new opportunity at a new program working out in the gym of their previous program. The optics have an odd quality to them. Just a tiny amount.

Mulkey and LSU deserve praise for letting Hailey Van Lith finish her work on their floor! It demonstrates the former’s feelings toward the latter.

Regarding his future plans, Van Lith is thinking about spending the upcoming season at Mississippi State. She won’t make a snap decision because the situation is still very uncertain. If not taking the lead, TCU is at least in the mix.

Van Lith spent last weekend on the Starkville campus. She was head coach of Louisville before joining the Bulldogs. The calculations add up.

It seems even more strange that LSU would let a future SEC opponent train in their facility if she decides to transfer to Mississippi State University. Well, anything. Well done to Van Lith and the Tigers for continuing to be cordial!
