Looking back at a memorable moment in West Ham United’s history on this particular day, sponsored by Heineken…

Bobby Zamora scored his second goal for West Ham United, leading the Hammers to a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Cardiff City at the Boleyn Ground on this day in 2004.

Zamora, who had joined the club during the January transfer window following Jermian Defoe’s move to Tottenham Hotspur, had already made an impact by scoring on his debut against Bradford City.

During his home debut against Cardiff City, Zamora found the back of the net in the 73rd minute, placing his shot beyond Martyn Margetson, who would later become West Ham’s goalkeeping coach. This crucial goal secured all three points for the Irons.
