Samaritan Cunningham recalls his first-ever scholarship offer, which came from Oklahoma. He discusses his interactions with the Sooners and shares insights into his experience navigating the recruiting process.

For Samaritan Cunningham, the moment was nothing short of surreal. His first scholarship offer, and from none other than the prestigious Oklahoma program.

Hailing from Dekaney High School in Spring, Texas, Cunningham has been making waves as a rising star in the world of football. As a talented running back projected to graduate in 2026, he always believed he had the potential to secure offers from Division I FBS programs. However, he wasn’t certain when his hard work would translate into tangible opportunities.

Then came the pivotal call from DeMarco Murray, the running backs coach at Oklahoma and a former standout in the same position. Murray reached out to Cunningham personally, affirming that he had indeed earned a coveted chance to join a program of Oklahoma’s caliber.
