Miami’s rowing team achieved remarkable feats in the varsity eight boats at the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships, securing fifth place among nine competing teams. This finish equals the program’s highest ranking in the ACC Championships since the expansion to nine teams in 2015. Miami outperformed Clemson, UNC, Louisville, and Boston College on Saturday.

Constance Stirling received Second Team All-ACC recognition, while Aaliah Dawson was named to the ACC First Team. Stirling, a three-time All-ACC awardee, has consistently earned postseason honors for three consecutive seasons. Additionally, the third-varsity eight set a new program record, clocking in at 6:56.008, surpassing last year’s time by over 40 seconds.

In the process, the Canes emerged victorious over UNC. Miami’s second varsity four and first varsity four showcased dominance in their respective petite finals. The second varsity four outpaced Boston College by nearly 16 seconds, while the first varsity four secured convincing victories over Louisville and Boston College.

Miami’s second varsity eight achieved a record-breaking performance, crossing the finish line in 6:33.373, surpassing Notre Dame and Louisville in the grand final.

The day culminated in another program record as the first varsity eight boat clocked an impressive time of 6:23.427, securing victory over Clemson.
