The Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers are set to take place from April 12th to 13th, with the winners securing their spot at the season-ending Finals in Seville in November. World number 1 Iga Swiatek, along with top players like Jessica Pegula, Naomi Osaka, Angelique Kerber, Simona Halep, Elina Svitolina, Emma Raducanu, Caroline Garcia, and Beatriz Haddad Maia, will headline the qualifiers.

Switzerland will face Poland at the Swiss Tennis Arena in Biel. Swiatek, ranked number 1 in the world, will represent Poland for the first time since her successful run in the 2022 Qualifiers. With a five-match winning streak and recent titles at the WTA Finals in Cancun and WTA 1000 events in Indian Wells and Doha, Swiatek brings formidable form to the competition. She will face Simona Waltert in the opening match, aiming to build on her seven singles wins in Billie Jean King Cup matches.

Reflecting on the upcoming match, Swiatek acknowledged the challenge of playing as a guest but expressed readiness to focus on her performance. Poland’s team also includes Magdalena Frech, Magda Linette, Katarzyna Kawa, and Magdalina Chwalinska.

Switzerland, led by team captain Heinz Guenthardt, will feature Viktorija Golubic, Celine Naef, Simona Waltert, and Jil Teichmann. Missing from the lineup is Belinda Bencic, who is taking a break from tennis as she awaits the birth of her first child.
