The Florida Gators secured their initial verbal commitment for the 2026 recruitment class recently, with Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit’s four-star quarterback, Will Griffin, making the significant decision. Griffin, a long-time fan of the Gators, chose to commit to Billy Napier and his team while visiting Ben Hill Griffin Stadium last Saturday.

For Griffin, a Florida native, committing to UF was a deeply personal choice, rooted in his upbringing and love for the team. Meeting Coach Napier at midfield to share his decision was a moment he aimed to cherish forever. Having his family and friends present during the visit, especially while they were on official visits, made the occasion even more special.

Griffin emphasized the importance of being able to stay connected with his family, including watching his brother play high school games on Fridays and having them attend his college games on Saturdays, thanks to the reasonable proximity of UF to his hometown.
