If Great Britain can defeat Germany in the opening round in November, they will play the defending champions, Canada, in the quarterfinals of the Billie Jean King Cup. Emma Raducanu and Leylah Fernandez may rematch in the US Open final in 2021 if Great Britain wins.

Following the announcement of Great Britain’s probable matchup with Canada in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, Emma Raducanu and Leylah Fernandez may reunite.

In the 2021 US Open final, Raducanu memorably overcame Canadian Fernandez, and if Britain wins their first-round match against Germany, they will square off again.

Along with Australia, Italy, and the Czech Republic, Canada is one of four teams seeded to go to the quarterfinals of the competition in Seville later this year. They are the reigning champions.

Because of the format change from groups to a straight knockout announced by the International Tennis Federation last week, a total of 12 teams made it to the Finals.

The eighteen-time winners United States and Slovakia were drawn to compete in the women’s team event final on Tuesday. The victors will play the Czechs, while the hosts, Spain, must defeat Poland.

The quarterfinals will take place from November 15 to November 17, and the first round matches will take place from November 12 to November 14 at Seville’s La Cartuja Stadium.

November 18 and 19 will be the dates of the semi-finals, while November 20 will be the final. Two singles matches and one doubles match make up each tie.

After defeating France 3-1 with to goals from Raducanu and Katie Boulter, Great Britain advanced to the Finals.

The group fell to Australia in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup Finals, marking their final appearance in the competition.

In the tournament, Great Britain and Germany have squared off six times, with GB winning four of those meetings.

In their final meeting, which took place in 1985, Jo Durie, Annabelle Croft, and Anne Hobbs all won 3-0, ensuring that Great Britain emerged victorious.
