Manchester United wants to raise £100 million in player sales, and they are hoping that West Ham will come back for Scott McTominay in the summer, according to iNews.

The news outlet reports on their website (March 13) that the club may try to sell some academy players in order to obtain money to finance their own transfer requests for the summer window.

One player who may depart is Mason Greenwood, although the club reportedly views McTominay as “replaceable,” and they hope West Ham will make another attempt to sign him after their previous attempt was turned down.

Scott McTominay is not required by West Ham United.
This season has been eventful for Scott McTominay at Old

Trafford this season, putting up a lot of goals but not really being a consistent midfield player.

However, his skill set is undoubtedly more David Moyes’ style than Erik Ten Hag’s, which is why he would be a suitable summertime addition for the Hammers.

But practically speaking, it wouldn’t be a terrific signing, and it’s obvious that the money would be better off being used somewhere else. In the end, he’s basically Tomas Soucek with less polish.

Although he is a strong runner, adept in the air, and physically strong, his technical limitations mean that the club shouldn’t be following his path—especially when the majority of supporters want to see David Moyes go in the summer.

West Ham has also performed admirably. There are now more affordable and superior solutions available for scout in the European market. The Irons shouldn’t be attempting to acquire him, as seen by their desire to get rid of him.
