A player who David Moyes only brought to the team eighteen months ago may be sold by West Ham United during the summer transfer window.

David Moyes, the manager of West Ham, will need to make a number of fresh recruits, thus the summer transfer window will be crucial.
However, in order to raise money and adhere to Financial Fair Play regulations, sales will also need to be made.

Flynn Downes, who is presently spending the season on loan at Southampton, is one player who most certainly might be let go. He is 25 years old.

When the summer transfer window opens, West Ham may sell the Essex-born midfield player on a permanent basis, according to The Athletic.

His long-term future at the London Stadium is said to be “uncertain,” but Southampton is reportedly determined to get him to St Mary’s permanently, regardless of whatever tier they play in the next season.

In the summer of 2022, Moyes paid £14 million to move the 25-year-old from Swansea City to the London Stadium; nevertheless, he only played 1,507 minutes for the Hammers in the previous campaign (Transfermarkt).

And it appears that he might not play for West Ham any longer.

Midfielder for West Ham could be sold during the summer transfer window.
Given that the Athletic is speculating that the Saints would make every effort to sign Downes long-term this summer, it seems certain that his future is not at the London Stadium.

Downes has been a tremendous asset to Southampton this season, and I really enjoyed seeing him play last year.

It is undeniable, though, that there are questions about the former Swansea City player’s suitability for Premier League action.

He is really skilled at many things, but is he technical or progressive enough to be a difference maker for us at the top level? To be honest, I’m not sure if he is.

The midfielder is undoubtedly one of the best players in the Championship, and he might also be a useful addition to a Premier League team in the bottom half. Regretfully for him, though, I don’t believe he will succeed as a professional in East London.

And I believe it will be better for all parties if West Ham sells Flynn Downes during the summer transfer window.
