Yuki Tsunoda received high praise from Helmut Marko, who likened the Japanese Grand Prix standout to multiple Formula 1 champions. Despite being just 23 years old, Tsunoda has displayed impressive performance since the beginning of the season, overshadowing his teammate Daniel Ricciardo, who was initially seen as a contender for a Red Bull seat. Tsunoda’s recent success includes scoring points at Suzuka, his home circuit, for the first time, bringing his season total to seven points. In contrast, Ricciardo has yet to score for Red Bull Racing this season, despite facing pressure from competitors like Lance Stroll in the faster Aston Martin, as well as Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.

Reflecting on Tsunoda’s stellar performance, Marko compared him to elite drivers such as Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso, praising his flawless execution and impressive overtaking maneuvers, particularly noting the pressure of competing in front of his home crowd. With continued strong performances, Tsunoda could be considered for a seat alongside Verstappen at the main Red Bull team, currently occupied by Sergio Perez, who himself has started the season well despite facing significant pressure.

Marko also commended Perez’s solid performance, highlighting his resilience despite unfortunate circumstances during pit stops and praising his skillful maneuver against Lewis Hamilton at the 160R corner. According to Marko, Perez is having his most impressive season yet with the team.
