Blues center-half Cameron Burgess has been selected for Australia’s squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Lebanon later this month. The Socceroos will face Lebanon at the CommBank Stadium in Western Sydney on Thursday, March 21st, and then again at the GIO Stadium in Canberra on Tuesday, March 26th.

The qualifier at GIO Stadium will be considered a home game for Lebanon, who have chosen to play the match in Australia due to the current situation in the Middle East. Australia currently leads Group I of Asian qualifying, with Lebanon in second place.

Cameron Burgess, aged 28, who has previously earned six full caps, will join the squad following Saturday’s game against Sheffield Wednesday.

In other international news, Wes Burns, Nathan Broadhead, and Kieffer Moore have been named in the Wales squad for their matches during the international break. Meanwhile, striker Ali Al-Hamadi opted not to join the Iraq squad due to a minor injury, and captain Sam Morsy was not included in the Egypt squad for their upcoming games.
