At least Dan Morgan, general manager of the Carolina Panthers, isn’t closing the door on a Stephon Gilmore comeback.

Morgan and Dave Canales presented the team’s future course of action during a pre-draft news conference on Thursday. As it happens, a component of that strategy might involve bringing back Gilmore, a well-known character.

Morgan answered, “Yeah, we’re going to leave the door open there.” “We will continue to communicate, and following the draft, we will take a closer look at the situation and see where it goes.”

After playing for the Panthers in 2021, Gilmore spent the next two seasons with the Colts and Cowboys.

During his time with the Patriots from 2017 to 2020, he had his best season run. Before being moved to Carolina, Gilmore earned two All-Pro teams and won the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year award.

Concurrently striving to introduce Gilmore to Charlotte in Jadeveon Clowney’s return home.

Following his Panthers signing, Clowney declared that he would “try to get him to pull up, too.”

It wouldn’t be astonishing if Gilmore managed to return to Charlotte before the summer is out, given the open communication channel, Clowney’s persuasive approach, and Morgan’s eagerness to have him.
