Today marks the 38th birthday of Stuart Giddings, a former full back/defender for Coventry City and member of the Coventry City Former Players Association (CCFPA). Born on March 27, 1986, Stuart has deep roots in Coventry, having come up through the club’s youth system and representing England at the under-16 to under-19 levels.

Stuart made his debut for the Sky Blues first team in the Championship in May 2004 as a substitute and went on to make his full debut the following season. His career exemplifies Coventry City’s success in nurturing young talent from the academy to the first team. Stuart was also part of the Coventry City team that won the Birmingham Senior Cup in the 2006-07 season.

Despite facing setbacks such as injuries, Stuart has continued his football career, playing for clubs like Hinckley Athletic, Ilkeston Town, and Darlington. He has remained connected to Coventry City, regularly attending home games and participating in events organized by the CCFPA. Stuart has also contributed to charitable causes by playing for the Sky Blues Legends XI in fundraising matches.

Stuart’s presence at former player gatherings and events like Legends Day demonstrates his ongoing support and connection to Coventry City. Fans look forward to seeing him at future events, including the upcoming Legends Day in June 2024.
