The Milwaukee Bucks’ playoff journey is set, with a matchup against the Indiana Pacers in the opening round as the No. 3 seed versus the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference.

However, the status of Giannis Antetokounmpo for Game 1 of this first-round series remains uncertain. The former back-to-back MVP has been sidelined for the last three games due to a calf strain, raising concerns about his availability for the playoff opener.

Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers addressed reporters before the team’s recent loss to the Orlando Magic, offering a somewhat ambiguous outlook on Antetokounmpo’s status:

“I’m confident, but I don’t know how much,” Rivers stated via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “We just have to wait and see, you know? So, I don’t honestly know. I don’t know if that’s confidence or not. I think if I was on the first tee and I didn’t know which way the ball is going I wouldn’t be confident, so I don’t know one way or the other. I just know he’s doing all the work, we’re getting great reports. (Saturday) he did everything. So, that was positive. That’s all we can get right now.”

Rivers’ comments suggest uncertainty regarding Antetokounmpo’s availability for Game 1 and potentially beyond. With the playoffs looming, Bucks fans are left hoping for the best as Antetokounmpo continues his recovery process.
