The selecting news fair keeps on coming for the South Carolina football program. Within the month of June, the Gamecocks landed open commitments from linebacker/defensive back Jaquel Holman, EDGE Kobby Sakyi-Prah, cautious back Chris Hatfield, tight conclusion Preston Douglas, linebacker AJ Holloway, hostile lineman Shed Sarratt, and kicker/punter Max Kelley, and a handful of others have committed to the program behind the scenes. On Thursday night, another title came forward with an declaration that he was vowing his administrations to the Gamecocks.

4-star lesson of 2025 EDGE prospect Jaquavious Dodd committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks over offers from the Virginia Tech Hokies, Virginia Cavaliers, and a gathering of smaller programs. He is the third EDGE commitment for USC within the ’25 cycle, but Carolina doesn’t show up to be done at the position as they still are included with a few other skilled pass rushers. Dodd is positioned as tall as 139th broadly and as tall as 2nd within the state of South Carolina by On3. On3 and Rivals both have him evaluated as a 4-star prospect based on his colossal upside.

Dodd could be a formative prospect who hasn’t played much football however. Having begun playing the diversion after entering tall school, he has tons of potential as a plus-athlete with tip top length. Whereas he likely won’t contribute much as a genuine first year recruit, the 6’5″/6’6″ Eastside Tall School item might create into a big-time college player in case things go well for him.

As a player, Dodd’s size potential and physicality make him an interesting player to observe on film. He has plays where he flashes a few noteworthy capacity as a pass rusher, and as he picks up muscle mass and involvement, he will get way better and superior against the run. Indeed with his brief history as a player, Dodd was beneficial final drop as a junior, and with another great year for Eastside as a senior, he could impel himself pleasantly into his college career.
