Texas football received disappointing news regarding one of its top recruiting prospects, five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench. According to On3, Ffrench has removed Texas from consideration as his top school following a visit to LSU. Ffrench has now adopted a completely open-minded approach to his decision-making process.

“I don’t have a leader,” Ffrench stated, as reported by Sports Illustrated. “LSU changed it, they made it competitive. But those one-two-three schools, everybody is in right now. It’s very back open right now.”

Ffrench, a standout wide receiver from Jacksonville, Florida, is a member of the 2025 recruiting class. He posted impressive stats in the 2023 season, recording 62 receptions for 1,247 yards and 14 touchdowns, as per On3. In his sophomore season, he amassed 671 receiving yards.

Currently, Ffrench is considering Texas, LSU, Miami, Tennessee, and Florida State. He is scheduled to announce his college decision on August 30, according to Sports Illustrated. Despite the setback, Texas remains hopeful of securing the commitment of this highly sought-after recruit.
