JUST IN: Alcaraz defeats Marozsan to win the 50th ATP Masters 1000 match in Indian Wells.

On Tuesday night, Carlos Alcaraz defeated Fabian Marozsan 6-3, 6-3. In the following round, he will face the victor of the match between No. 6 seed Australian Alex De Minaur and No. 10 seed German Alexander Zverev.

The second-seeded Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz defeated the Hungarian Fabian Marozsan 6-3, 6-3 on Tuesday to move on to the final eight of the Indian Wells Masters at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

Having won the championship last year, Alcraz extends his winning run to nine matches at Indian Wells.

It’s also his 50th victory in an ATP Masters 1000 match.

In their sole prior match, which took place in Rome last year, Marozsan prevailed 6-3, 7-6 (4).

The No. 2 seed Alcaraz will next play the victor of the match between the No. 6 seed Australian Alex de Minaur and the No. 10 seed German Alexander Zverev.

In the earlier stages of the Indian Wells Tennis Masters, the 20-year-old Spaniard defeated the No. 31 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada (6-2, 6-3) and Italian Matteo Arnaldi (6-7 (5), 6-0, 6-1).

Prior to this, Marozsan, rated No. 58, triumphed against Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No. 24 seed (3-6, 7-5, 6-4), Brazilian qualifier Thiago Seyboth Wild (6-2, 6-2), and Austrian lucky loser Jurij Rodionov (6-3, 6-2).
