Uncertainty looms over the Las Vegas Raiders’ quarterback situation, especially with the recent signing of Gardner Minshew in free agency, yet without a clear long-term solution beyond the 2024 season.

However, with the NFL Draft approaching at the end of this month, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce made a bold statement regarding the team’s intentions.

“I think everything is on the table,” Pierce informed reporters during the NFL Annual Meeting.

As the Raiders strive to secure their future at quarterback, both for the sustained success of the franchise and to provide Pierce with a cornerstone player in his inaugural full season as head coach, the possibilities are wide open.

“Whatever makes the Raiders better,” Pierce asserted, “I’m all for. And when I say I’m a go-getter, [that means] whatever it takes to win, whatever it takes to get the best player to make our team the best, that’s what I want to do, and that’s what I’d like to see us do.”

Acknowledging his own relative lack of experience compared to Tom Telesco in the draft process, Pierce expressed his willingness to rely on Telesco’s expertise to guide their decisions. Ultimately, the focus remains on finding the right fit for the Raiders, someone who embodies the team’s culture and values.

With owner Mark Davis giving his approval for potential moves, the Raiders are prepared to take action, provided it aligns with their strategic vision.

The extent of their climb in pursuit of a quarterback in the draft may determine the price they are willing to pay. Whether targeting prospects like Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, or J.J. McCarthy, Las Vegas might need to ascend as high as the No. 3 overall pick, though there’s no guarantee the Patriots will entertain a trade.

Currently holding the No. 13 overall pick, the Raiders might need to part ways with their first-round selection this year and possibly an additional pick in the 2025 draft to bolster their quarterback room, already populated by Minshew and Aidan O’Connell.

However, they’re not alone in their quest, with other teams like the Minnesota Vikings and potentially the New York Giants also poised to make moves, potentially offering more draft capital than the Raiders can muster.
