For head coach Chris Klieman and his staff, the St. Louis product is the top commit in the 2025 cycle.

On Monday, Kansas State achieved a significant recruiting victory when quarterback Dillon Duff of Saint Louis (Mo.) De Smet committed on President’s Day.

For head coach Chris Klieman and his staff, 6-foot-2, 190-pound Duff is the first commit in the 2025 cycle. Despite receiving offers from Nebraska, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, and Duke, he decided to play for the Wildcats.

“There are many obvious reasons why I picked K-State, but in the end, it really comes down to the people,” Duff remarked. “K-State is a dependable program with excellent coaching staff that competes at a high level.”

Duff accepted Kansas State’s January offer after visiting the school over the first weekend in February and committed a little more than two weeks later. Matt Wells, the offensive coordinator, spearheaded the effort to recruit him.

Duff remarked, “I feel wanted at K-State and I’ve maintained relations with Coach Klieman, Coach Wells, and the rest of the offensive staff.” “Coach Klieman’s record of producing successful quarterbacks speaks for itself, and after visiting and getting a sense of the community, I knew I had found my forever home.”

Under Klieman, Duff believes he can realize his entire potential.

“I’ve seen no other coach who can affect players and coaches the way Coach Klieman can,” he remarked. “He has the ability to unite a vast army with love and support.” I’m eager to learn from and get to know him better because he’s an amazing coach and an even better person. I’m eager to watch what K-State does in the forthcoming season since I think they have just as bright of a future as any other team.

“There is no limit—the sky.”

Duff amassed 2,458 yards and 23 touchdowns as a junior. In addition to his ability to make touch throws and anticipate plays, he is an athletic passer who can really move the ball downfield and provide his pass catchers with opportunities to create plays after the catch.

Everything he was searching for was at Kansas State.

“I think they’ll enable me to fulfill my potential not just as a football player but also as a husband, father, brother, and child of God,” Duff remarked.
