In the second quarter of Atlanta’s 123-121 loss against the Toronto Raptors on Friday, head coach Quin Snyder of the Hawks was ejected.

When point guard Trae Young was thrown to the ground and seemed to have a leg injury with about four and a half minutes left in the quarter, Snyder lost it with an official for failing to flag an illegal screen.

An enraged Snyder was given two technical fouls and dismissed right away for his response to what he believed to be a missed call that occurred in front of the referee and him.

Young was able to stay in the game after he took a moment to remain on the ground following the play and went on to finish with 11 points and seven assists.

The Hawks and the referees had seemed to be at odds throughout the night after officials called four of five technical fouls in the first half against Atlanta.

Young and Hunter were both given technical fouls in the first half in addition to Snyder’s double technical.

With 24 points and six 3-pointers, Immanuel Quickley led the Raptors to victory for the second straight game following the All-Star break.

For Toronto, Scottie Barnes added ten assists and twenty points. With 12 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists, Jacob Poeltl led the way.

With 24 points, Dejounte Murray led Atlanta. Adding 22 points was De’Andre Hunter.

Murray went out of bounds on a dribble hand-off from Bogdan Bogdanovic with 18 seconds remaining, putting the Hawks behind 121-118. Bruce Brown’s breakaway slam with 11 seconds remaining gave the Raptors the victory.
