Des Hasler doesn’t want his Titans to be frustrated after they lost a game they should have easily won to fall to last spot on the ladder.

Titans coach Des Hasler has cautioned his team against excessive frustration following their disappointing loss to the Wests Tigers, which saw them drop to the bottom of the ladder. Despite making seven line breaks compared to the Tigers’ three, the Titans managed only two tries in the first 19 minutes. They remained scoreless for the majority of the match against a team that hadn’t won in nine games.

“From our perspective, it seemed like a game we were managing quite effectively. If you look at all the stats and data, they support that,” Hasler commented. “However, despite that, we didn’t come away with the victory, so we need to manage our frustration carefully because it can breed negativity.”

“We’re disappointed in ourselves for letting those two points slip away, so it’s crucial we bounce back this week against the Warriors, who have found their form again.”

The Titans are aiming for a strong response at home against the Warriors this Saturday. Fullback Keano Kini, in impressive recent form, looks to continue his impact, while AJ Brimson is expected to return from injury following the bye week. Jayden Campbell also showed promise at five-eighth alongside veteran Kieran Foran, adding to the Titans’ attacking options.

“Keano had a fantastic game, running for over 300 meters, but he’s still refining certain aspects of his game,” Hasler praised. “JC is steadily regaining match fitness and form, so he’ll continue to progress. He brings excitement and is always involved in creating scoring opportunities.”

“JC is fortunate to possess essential skills needed for any spine position. It’s about gaining experience and getting more games under his belt. He has a bright future ahead,” Hasler added optimistically.

“In positive news for the Titans, David Fifita has been cleared to return after missing last week due to an ankle injury. Despite not making the Maroons squad for game 2, I expect him to make a significant impact,” Hasler concluded confidently.
