GREEN BAY PACKERS
JUST IN: In the 2024 offseason primer, securing an extension for Jordan Love emerges as the top priority for the Green Bay Packers.
Despite a rocky start at 3-6, the Green Bay Packers rallied behind quarterback Jordan Love to clinch a playoff spot as the NFC’s No. 7 seed, finishing with a 9-8 record. While the team’s offense ranked just outside the top 10, there are promising signs of it evolving into a top-tier unit next season. Surrounding Love are talented playmakers including running back Aaron Jones, receivers Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks, as well as tight ends Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft.
With Love entering the final year of his rookie contract and set to earn $12.75M on his fifth-year option, securing a contract extension for him is likely the top offseason priority for GM Brian Gutekunst.
However, the Packers’ defense is in need of significant improvement. Ranking 17th in total defense, 16th in sacks, and 31st in interceptions, the team opted to part ways with defensive coordinator Joe Barry and brought in Jeff Hafley as his successor in hopes of revitalizing the defensive unit.
