JUST IN: NFL draft history of ATLANTA FALCONS at the senior Bowl; and players to keep an eye on in 2024.

Over the last three years, the Atlanta Falcons have chosen 12 out of their 23 draft picks from players who participated in the Senior Bowl. However, the 2023 draft class for the Falcons didn’t have as many Senior Bowl participants as the preceding two years.

Since assuming the role of General Manager in January 2021, Terry Fontenot has overseen a draft strategy where more than half of the Falcons’ picks (52.2%) have emerged from the Senior Bowl. Notably, four of these selections were in the second round, with two each in the third, fifth, and sixth rounds, and one in the fourth and seventh rounds, respectively.

With the 2024 Senior Bowl on the horizon, attention now shifts to potential quarterback options for the Falcons. In the last two drafts, the team invested their first-round picks in running back Bijan Robinson and wide receiver Drake London, both of whom could benefit from the presence of a high-caliber quarterback.

The most recent quarterback drafted by the Falcons was Desmond Ridder in 2022, a talent discovered at the Senior Bowl. While the Senior Bowl quarterbacks aren’t the sole options in the 2024 draft, notable names like Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels won’t be participating in the event.

Scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. ET at the University of South Alabama’s Hancock Whitney Stadium, the 2024 Senior Bowl game precedes the NFL Draft set for April 25-27 in Detroit. Despite the absence of the Falcons coaching staff on the field, the team is anticipated to be well-represented in Mobile as they continue their search for a quarterback.
