Oklahoma defeated TCU 72-55 on Wednesday at Lloyd Noble Center, maintaining its lead in the Big 12 Conference as Skylar Vann continued to burn bright. Vann led OU to a double-digit lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter and played well down the stretch. She has scored in double figures in 15 straight games and has gone over 20 in five of her last seven.

Sahara Williams, who did not score in the first three quarters but heated up late, scored nine of OU’s first eleven points in the fourth quarter. Payton Verhulst’s transition three-pointer increased the Sooners’ lead to fifteen points, and Beatrice Culliton’s conventional fast break three-point play increased it to eighteen (68–50).

TCU dropped to 15-7 and 2-9, while OU surged to 16-6 overall and 10-1 in Big 12 Conference play, maintaining sole possession of top spot in the league rankings.

For the tenth time in eleven games, OU triumphed, their seventh straight.

For the first time since the 2008–09 squad began 12-0 en route to a conference title (15–1) and Final Four appearance, Oklahoma is 10-1 in conference play.

All night long, OU played with remarkable efficiency, recording 22 assists on 27 field goals and nearly 50% shooting (xx-of-xx). Additionally, the Sooners scored 16 points off of 16 TCU turnovers.

Vann finished 7 of 12 from the field, including 2 of 2 from 3-point range, with 3 steals and 3 assists. Verhulst finished with six rebounds, three steals, and fourteen points on six of fifteen shots. For the Sooners, Kierston Johnson finished with 11 points and 8 rebounds.

The Sooners return to action on Saturday when they tip off in Ames at 6 p.m. against Iowa State.
