JUST IN: On Sky Sports, Paul Merson delivers a “crazy” relegation prediction for Everton in real time.

While predicting Luton to stay up, Paul Merson made a “crazy” relegation prediction involving Everton live on Sky Sports Soccer on Saturday.

After a six-point deduction, the Toffees are currently four points above the relegation zone. They don’t play again until the end of the month, so Luton will have another opportunity to cut the gap when they play Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon (16 March).

However, during his appearance on Sky Sports Soccer on Saturday, March 16, at 12:26, Merson backed the Hatters to survive relegation and said that he is concerned about Sean Dyche’s team following their 11-game losing streak.

“Playing someone is all about timing,” he remarked. You recall that not so long ago, Bournemouth was having a great deal of difficulty. Then, with eleven players out, they go to play Newcastle at home. They began their ascent up the ladder with their victory over Newcastle.

“At this point, I believe Luton should leave.” Their fixtures appeal to me. They seem like a different animal at home, and I believe they prevail today. They are absolutely correct in this assessment.

Everton to be relegated from the Premier League?

Everton is my concern since they consistently lose football games while remaining under the radar. What’s even more concerning is that occasionally they continue to perform well while losing football games.

That raises even greater concerns. Personally, I believe Luton is still able to escape.

Undoubtedly, Everton faces relegation in their final 10 games of the current campaign, which is unfair given their success thus far.

No team in the top flight has underperformed their xG more than the Toffees, and it’s obviously impossible to ignore the fact they should have six points more than they do.

But while Merson is usually someone who tends to side with Dyche and Everton when it comes to survival, he is right to be worried and any fans who say they aren’t are simply lying.
