Speaking candidly about facing the Hawks, Alexandre Sarr Zaccharie Risacher

The Washington Wizards’ Alexandre Sarr was candid when discussing his matchup with the Atlanta Hawks’ Zaccharie Risacher.

Despite losing their first two 2024 Las Vegas Summer League games, the Atlanta Hawks have witnessed encouraging moments from rookie Zaccharie Risacher, the first overall pick.

In the Hawks’ Summer League debut, he put up the most promising performance of his career with 18 points, five rebounds, two assists, and one block. The Hawks were defeated. However, Risacher also faced off against Alexandre Sarr, a colleague on the French Junior National team, in this game.

Sarr spoke with Mark Medina of Sportskeeda about playing against Risacher.

It was rather pleasant. He was someone I knew three years ago. Playing against him is always a pleasure. In an interview published on July 16, Risacher told Medina, “It was a great game.” “We competed for the same national team and team. We were attempting to win a medal with France because we were on the same team were competing. We enjoyed getting together in the summer every time.

In the first game, Risacher more than held his own against Sarr, the man the Hawks had initially anticipated to select first overall.

He was less effective in his second outing versus the San Antonio Spurs.

Risacher still finished with 11 points. But after shooting 43.8% from the floor and going 3-for-9 from beyond the arc versus the Wizards, he shot 33.3% overall and was 1-for-7 from deep versus the Spurs.

He did record five rebounds and two assists. But the rookie was 2-for-5 from the free throw line against the Wizards.

The Hawks will take on the 0-2 Los Angeles Lakers in their next outing on July 18.
