JUST IN: Steve Carell acknowledges Nikola Jokic, adding Denver to the Megaverse

If the Mega Minions Megaverse occurs within the timeline that Illumination has specified, then Nikola Jokic’s crossover with the Minions and Despicable Me might just be getting started. If not, A-list actor Steve Carell, who plays Gru, the character Jokic dressed up as for a game and mimicked in a commercial, at least gave the NBA’s three-time MVP a nod.

About two months ago, Jokic stated of Gru, “I love the guy, I love the cartoon.” “I just wanted to enjoy myself a little.”

When Carell was doing publicity for the upcoming Despicable Me 4, he was questioned about Jokic’s decision to turn up at Ball Arena dressed like the character he plays.

“Very good, I believe he got it exactly right. Well done, Carell said. I think he deserves a lot of credit for that.

Meanwhile “Jokic boss” has seemingly been added into the Minions lore, as Illumination has put on their Minions Megaverse website a movie that comes out in 2051 called Despicable in Denver, where the Mega Minions are tasked with delivering a horse to a man who looks like Gru. WHO COULD THAT BE?

The joke is that there are 50 Mega Minions movies coming in the next 100 years of their cinematic universe and the 2051 installment with a Jokic crossover is just part of the fun. While we might not get an actually Jokic Minions movie, we’ll always have that trailer.

Arriving early next month is Despicable Me 4. You can be sure that the Denver Nuggets great center will watch the film as soon as it opens because of his enormous affection for cartoons.
