Conor Gallagher, a midfielder for Chelsea, is someone that former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor claims he would rather have than one Manchester United player.

Chelsea’s season has been outstanding thanks to Conor Gallagher, who scored in their most recent matchup with Manchester City (1–1) as well as against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.

Speaking on talkSPORT on February 22, 2024, at 09:12, Gabby Agbonlahor has now said that he prefers Gallagher to Casemiro.

The Brazilian has had a challenging season; in addition to missing a significant portion of it due to injury, he was sent off during United’s disastrous Champions League run.

The next matchup between United and Chelsea is scheduled for April; the last time they played, United prevailed 2-1.

Gabby Agbonlahor expresses his preference for Conor Gallagher over Casemiro, citing confidence that Gallagher would offer greater mobility and energy in midfield. When questioned about his choice between the two, the former forward confidently asserts, “Definitely. He would provide more dynamism in midfield.”

Conor Gallagher certainly contributes significant energy to the midfield. In Chelsea’s recent 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace, during which Gallagher scored two goals, the 24-year-old covered a distance of 13 kilometers, a feat that even surprised him.

His stamina and work rate are evidently valuable assets, and it’s no wonder why Tottenham Hotspur is keen on acquiring the English midfielder. According to The Sun, Tottenham has shown interest in Gallagher, who is currently valued at £50 million by Chelsea.

However, with his contract approaching its expiry, this valuation could decrease by the summer. Gallagher’s current deal with Chelsea is set to end in 2025. If not renewed, it’s expected that Spurs, along with possibly a few other Premier League clubs, will make bids for Gallagher. This situation underscores the urgency for Chelsea to address his contract situation promptly.
