JUST IN:Jared Goff Expresses His Views About Rams vs. Lions Supporters

In the blockbuster trade that sent Matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams and Jared Goff to the Detroit Lions, Goff was viewed as a throw-in.

After a few difficult seasons, the Rams and head coach Sean McVay appeared to be done with Goff and thought it was time to move on from him and bring in a veteran like Stafford.

Although Goff and Detroit gradually improved, Stafford and Los Angeles would go on to win Super Bowl LVI in their first season together.

After leading the Lions to victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Divisional Round and defeating the Rams in the Wild Card Round, Goff finally exacted retribution on his former team.

The Detroit audience has shown respect and affection for the former No. 1 overall choice, as evidenced by the cheers he received at a recent Red Wings game.

Through ESPN’s Eric Woodyard, Goff compared the supporters in Detroit to Los Angeles and stated that they are very different.

“These supporters are amazing,” Goff remarked. He said, “My playoff runs in Los Angeles were not like this.”

Given that Los Angeles hasn’t had a professional football club for decades, it makes reasonable that Goff wouldn’t be greeted with the same hoopla.

But Detroit is a completely different beast because Goff can lead them to a championship, and the sports environment has been famished for one.

It’s been thrilling to watch if Goff can sustain the Lions’ Super Bowl ambitions this weekend; they have been the NFL’s feel-good story all season.
