JUST NOW: Hawks Supporters Messaged D’Angelo Russell With Four Words

Murray has had a solid season from a box score perspective, but his impact hasn’t translated to many wins for an Atlanta team that looks like they should reset the roster.

Murray has been one of the hottest names during the NBA trade deadline and has been heavily linked to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Atlanta Hawks, who currently have a sub-.500 record and are ranked 10th in the Eastern Conference, are in a good position to expand their squad.

In an attempt to revitalize the squad, the Hawks aggressively traded for Dejounte Murray during the offseason, but the former All-Star hasn’t exactly lived up to the hype.

Similar to the Hawks, the Lakers have struggled mightily in the 2023–24 NBA season and have identified Murray as a player who they think may help them improve.

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, D’Angelo Russell would supposedly be the player heading back in any prospective Murray trade, and Atlanta supporters expressed their opinions about the Los Angeles guard.

“We don’t want you,” Hawks supporters yelled at D’Angelo Russell as he approached the free throw line.

Murray has so far refused to be taken back by the Hawks, but for weeks, stories have positioned Russell as the key player returning to the team.

To complete the transaction, a third team would have to become involved, but none of them have offered to take Russell back as of yet.

To be competitive this season, Atlanta and Los Angeles must both take action; yet, they might wait and continue negotiations in the off-season.
